This issue of the Bollettino del Club Alpino Italiano from 1895-96 collects reports, expedition accounts, and natural history observations from members of Italy’s premier mountaineering society. The bulletin documents Alpine exploration in the final decades of the golden age of mountaineering, recording first ascents, glaciological observations, and the developing culture of organised climbing in the Italian Alps.
As a primary source for the history of European mountaineering and the natural history of the Alps, the Bollettino is of interest to historians of sport, exploration, and environmental history. Note: this text is in Italian.
