Written around 1599, As You Like It is one of Shakespeare’s most charming and intellectually playful comedies — a pastoral romance set in the fantastical Forest of Arden, where the exiled Rosalind (disguised as a young man named Ganymede) courts Orlando while philosophising about love with her companions. Rosalind is widely considered one of Shakespeare’s greatest comic creations.
