Ins neue Land (Into the New Country) is a German-language novel by Gabriele Reuter, one of the most significant German women writers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Reuter is best known for Aus guter Familie (1895), a landmark novel of female subjugation that sold over a hundred thousand copies, but she was a prolific author whose work consistently explored the limitations placed on women in German bourgeois society.
Ins neue Land reflects her engagement with themes of change, possibility, and social constraint. Download this free public-domain EPUB to rediscover an important and underread voice in German feminist literary history.
