Palvelusväkeä is a Finnish-language (fi) translation of a work by Roderich Benedix, a prolific and popular nineteenth-century German playwright celebrated for his domestic comedies. Benedix wrote over a hundred comedies that enjoyed enormous success on German-speaking stages throughout the mid-to-late nineteenth century, known for their humor, accessible plots, and lively characterization of bourgeois life.
