Die Frau von dreißig Jahren is a German-language translation of Honoré de Balzac’s La Femme de trente ans, a novel composed in stages during the 1830s as part of his Human Comedy. The work traces the life of Julie d’Aiglemont, trapped in a marriage to a man she does not love, across several decades and explores with unsentimental precision the frustrations and moral compromises of women in Restoration France.
This edition is written in German. The original is one of Balzac’s more psychologically penetrating works. Download this public-domain edition as a free EPUB.
