A knight follows a white boar into fairyland and loses three hundred years; another, slandered at Arthur’s court, is rescued by his otherworldly beloved; a forest-raised youth wins a stag’s foot and a bride; and a baron who becomes a wolf each week is betrayed by his wife. Two of the lais are Marie de France’s, two by anonymous poets of her circle.
Short, magical medieval tales in readable modern prose, for anyone drawn to Arthurian legend beyond Malory. Download the free EPUB.
