Father Dan, the elderly, bookish parish priest of Kilronan, once spoke too freely about bishops and is sent a new curate who is expected to break his heart. Father Letheby arrives full of energy, reforms and modern ideas, and the old man narrates, with humour and growing affection, the curate’s struggles with poverty, idleness and suspicion in a west of Ireland village.
A warm, humorous classic of Irish clerical life, much loved by Catholic readers. Download the free EPUB.
