Jack Darrow and Mark Sampson, two young chemistry enthusiasts, join a professor’s daring scheme to fire a projectile across space to Mars. A secret power, a mysterious theft, terrific speeds and the wonders of the red planet follow. The boys’ Black servant Washington, played for comic dialect, reflects the racial stereotyping of the series.
An early American juvenile space adventure from 1910, best read with its period attitudes in mind. Download the free EPUB.
