In 1916 Brigadier-General Reginald Dyer was sent to the remote Sarhad on the Persian-Baluchi border to stop tribal raiders stirred up by German agents. With few troops he relied on forced marches and bluff, and his account describes the road to Robat, his plan of campaign and the dash to reach Khwash before the enemy.
A first-hand account by the general later notorious for the Amritsar massacre of 1919, best read with that in mind. Download the free EPUB.
