Charles Finger gathered these nineteen tales from the peoples of South and Central America during years of wandering there. They include the magic dog, the calabash man, the hero twins and the killing of Cabrakan, the hummingbird and the flower, the hungry old witch, and Rairu and the star maiden, each told as Finger heard it on the road.
