A second set of animal fables retold for children from the Jataka, the ancient Buddhist stories of the Buddha’s former lives. A girl monkey hides a string of pearls, three fishes face a net, a cunning wolf tricks the rats, a woodpecker, turtle and deer save one another, and a monkey king saves his whole troop.
Short, simple and wise, these stories are a lovely first taste of Indian folklore for young listeners. Download the free EPUB.
