The Old Man returns from Helena with a stranger, Miguel Rapponi, a flashy rider from California whom the Happy Family size up at once. Then sheep from the Dot outfit start crowding the Flying U range, and the cowboys, swallowing their pride, find themselves herding sheep and scheming to protect the ranch in their own comic way.
A favourite Bower novel of Montana ranch life, rich in cowboy banter and good humour. Download the free EPUB.
