Little Johannes lives in an old house with a vast garden that is a whole world to him, until an elf leads him into the lives of beetles, flowers and moonlit creatures. As he grows, the fairy tale darkens into a search for the meaning of life, through encounters with knowledge, doubt, love and death.
The best-known Dutch fairy tale of its era, a philosophical fantasy for adult readers as much as children. Download the free EPUB.
