A professor of philosophy vanishes from San Francisco after promising to reveal a great secret, and the mysterious Rhamda Avec seems to know where he went. Young men who follow the trail find an old house holding the Blind Spot, a portal to another world, and those who pass through do not come back. The novel was first serialised in Argosy-All-Story Weekly in 1921.
