Presented as a translation of an old Hindu manuscript, though generally regarded as Bain’s own invention, this short romance tells a solar myth in three parts, Sunset, Night and Dawn. Love, loss and rebirth play out among kings and their children, until an old king, watching a child cry over a broken toy, suddenly remembers a life long past.
