Cosmo Versál, a gnome-like genius with an enormous bald head, calculates that the earth is about to pass through a watery nebula that will flood the planet. Mocked by the scientific establishment, led by Professor Pludder, he builds a vast ark and sets about selecting the flower of mankind to fill it, while the first drops fall and terror sweeps the world.
