W. B. Yeats chose and introduced this sampler of Dunsany’s early work. It includes The Gods of the Mountain, in which beggars pose as gods with fearful results, the first act of King Argimenes and the Unknown Warrior, and prose fantasies such as the journey to Babbulkund, the City of Marvel.
A fine first taste of the Irish fantasist who influenced Tolkien, Lovecraft and Le Guin. Download the free EPUB.
