In the early sixteenth century James MacGregor, Dean of Lismore, filled a notebook at Fortingall in Perthshire with Gaelic poetry: ballads of Fionn and Ossian, verse by Scottish and Irish bards, and religious and satirical poems. This 1862 edition gives Thomas Maclauchlan’s English translations, the Dean’s original phonetic spelling and a modern Gaelic version, with an introduction by W. F. Skene.
The oldest great anthology of Scottish Gaelic poetry, essential for anyone interested in the real Ossianic tradition. Download the free EPUB.
