One hundred poems by the fifteenth-century weaver-poet of Benares, born to Muslim parents and schooled by the Hindu ascetic Ramananda, rendered into English by Rabindranath Tagore. Evelyn Underhill’s introduction sets out his life and his religion of love, and the songs themselves speak of a God found in the body, the breath and the music of the inner sky rather than in temple or mosque.
Short, luminous devotional verse for readers drawn to Sufism, bhakti or mysticism of any tradition. Download the free EPUB.
