Rhymes from the Russian

From Shenshin (Fet.)

A Russian Scene

Wondrous the picture,
How homelike to me!—
Distant plain whitening,
Full moon on the lea;
Light—in the heaven’s high,
And snow flashing bright;
Sledge in the distance
In its lonely flight.
