Morose, a rich old Londoner who cannot bear noise, plans to disinherit his nephew Sir Dauphine by marrying a woman who scarcely speaks. Dauphine and his witty friends Truewit and Clerimont help arrange the match with the soft-spoken Epicoene, and the wedding unleashes a torrent of chatter, collegiate ladies and comic fools on the miserable bridegroom.
A brilliantly plotted Jacobean city comedy, here with an introduction on Jonson and a glossary. Download the free EPUB.
