In the sweet April weather of northern Italy, Lady Blanchemain drives up to a castle with formal gardens and dark avenues. There an Englishman of leisure meets Maria Dolores, a young woman of uncertain station, and the grave little Annunziata, and a playful, teasing courtship unfolds in the sunlit terraces.
A light romantic comedy from the editor of The Yellow Book, written in his graceful later manner. Download the free EPUB.
