A young man of leisure is forever being drafted by his sister Daphne into village fetes, Punch and Judy shows, bee-keeping and other ordeals, and forever escaping into flirtations and scrapes of his own. The episodes, full of banter, motor cars and pretty girls, introduce the world Yates later made famous in the Berry books.
