Penelope, a young artist, travels with her friends Salemina and Francesca to Edinburgh, where they take rooms in Breadalbane Terrace. Penelope’s commonplace book records the landlady’s maid who ‘cudna say’, Scottish ministers and kirk disputes, Edinburgh society past and present, haggis and heather, and Francesca’s battles with the unconquered Scot.
Light, affectionate comedy from the author of Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. Download the free EPUB.
