It is snowing in the shires, the hounds are out, and the narrator’s pompous relation Joseph Jocelyn De Vere Vane-Anstruther is preparing his daily report on his host’s appearance. Into this comfortable household comes a mysterious lady who may be a princess of Illyria, bringing with her plots, bombs and a romance that sets the county by the ears.
A comedy of manners crossed with a Ruritanian adventure, sharp on English snobbery. Download the free EPUB.
