The Race
Who can run fastest Lily or Rose?
Take care, my babies, mind your wee toes,
Come little toddlekins, now let me see,
Who’ll be the first one to get to me.
Catch, catch who can, don’t tumble, don’t fall,
That you know, dearies, would not do at all.
Lily’s ahead, hurry up, Rosy,
Don’t fall, dearie, and bump your nosey.
Patter on, patter on, little feet,
Both of my horses are very fleet.
Which ever baby girl wins the race,
There will be smiles on each little face.
Both at once, come along, that’s the way,
Here you are, which was the first one, say?
I’m sure I don’t see how I can tell,
For both little children did so well.
