A tapping at the kitchen door and a mysterious box start the Bobbseys’ summer. Bert and Nan, Freddie and Flossie head for a farm at Cloverbank, with car rides to the Hitchville stores, farm chores, new friends and a puzzle to solve. The family cook Dinah is written in the dialect caricature of the 1920s.
