Home in Denmark after his visit to England, Andersen dedicated this set of new stories to Charles Dickens, whose hand was the last he shook on leaving. Among them are The Old House, The Drop of Water, The Story of a Mother, The False Collar, The Old Street-Lamp and the eerie tale of The Shadow.
A fine gathering of Andersen’s mature tales, framed by his warm letter to Dickens. Download the free EPUB.
