Ralph Rover tells how he, the bold Jack Martin and the joking Peterkin Gay were cast away on a Pacific coral island. They fish, explore lagoons, hunt and build themselves a home before pirates and warring islanders bring danger to their paradise. Its picture of Pacific islanders and of missionary rescue reflects the attitudes of 1858.
The castaway classic that William Golding answered in Lord of the Flies, still a fine yarn for young readers. Download the free EPUB.
