Dick Hunter shines shoes in lower Manhattan, sleeps in boxes and spends what he earns on the Old Bowery Theatre. A day showing a wealthy boy around the city, a new suit and some good advice set him saving, studying and refusing to cheat, while swindlers, a bully named Micky Maguire and a lost pocket-book test him.
