Cuffy Bear lives in a stone cave on the side of Blue Mountain with his father, mother and little sister Silkie. Waking hungry in spring, he meets a porcupine, finds a wonderful spring, gets into trouble with a bean-pot that sticks fast over his nose, and learns several lessons about curiosity and greed in the woods.
