Dallas Lore Sharp watches birds from a city rooftop, hunts a woodchuck, wades into the marsh and follows a sparrow roost through the seasons. The sketches include the story of Calico, a cat who adopted a nest of baby squirrels, and visits to Racoon Creek, all written with close observation and humour for young readers.
