Pussy Black-Face admits she is a naughty young kitten, with a spring in her spine that makes her want to jump and pounce, though her gentle mother purrs good advice. She tells of a cats’ refuge, her first fight, a cat on the Common, a train journey and a country summer in Maine, where a little girl named Mary pleads for the foxes.
