With her mother and father called away to a sick grandmother, Dolly lies awake in bed feeling very lonely, and a cat story told to her each night becomes the cure. Over nine nights she hears tales of clever and devoted cats, among them Mother Michel’s cat, which saved its mistress from the wicked steward Lustucru.
