Jacko, the sixth of little Minnie’s pets, is eighteen inches high, quick-fingered and full of mischief. He blacks the table, runs away, turns up in church and raids the pantry, while Minnie’s mother mixes his adventures with stories of other monkeys, from the cruel to the egg-stealing Kees, and gentle lessons on kindness to animals.
