An overworked American financier, ordered abroad to rest, finds himself and his wife absorbed into an English country estate in An Habitation Enforced. Kipling’s 1909 collection goes on to a dog held hostage, a hive of bees under siege, a transatlantic airship of the year 2000 in With the Night Mail, African cotton dealing and fox-hunting, each story paired with a poem.
Mature Kipling at his most varied, for readers who know The Jungle Book and want the stories that came after. Download the free EPUB.
