Alfred Reid is a child of poverty, used to being overlooked and suspicious of the respectable people who try to help him. A teacher’s patient individual effort, a Christian home and a group of earnest young church workers gradually change his idea of what his life could amount to, and of what heaven might mean.
Characteristic Christian fiction for young readers from Isabella Alden, among the most widely read Sunday-school authors of her day. Download the free EPUB.
