Treating Shakespeare’s Falstaff as though he were a real historical figure, Brough writes his full biography with mock scholarship: his birth and genealogy, boyhood tricks, coming to London and into his property, his friendship with Prince Henry, the battle of Gadshill and the day after, with learned dissertations on heroes, kings and civil war.
A clever Victorian comic biography, originally illustrated by George Cruikshank, for Shakespeare lovers with a sense of humour. Download the free EPUB.
