Billy Whiskers, the most mischievous goat in children’s books, runs away from home and loses his mother. Searching for her takes him across the sea and through European towns, where he bumps a burgomaster, outruns red-trousered gendarmes, survives an ocean storm and an encounter with a tiger, and joins a happy family.
