Belloc was known chiefly for his prose, but this collection shows him as a poet of real range. It includes the much-loved The South Country, lines written on Battersea Bridge in a gale, a Christmas carol, the angry The Rebel and satirical verses to the rich, with an introduction by the American poet Joyce Kilmer.
Robust, musical verse for anyone who knows Belloc only from Cautionary Tales. Download the free EPUB.
