Johnny is a small, sickly, complaining bear cub who lives with his mother Grumpy among the bears that feed on the garbage heap behind Yellowstone’s Fountain Hotel. Alongside his story come other animal biographies, including Tito, the coyote that learned how to survive among men, all drawn from Seton’s own observation of wild creatures.
Seton’s realistic animal stories, adapted for younger readers, remain a fine introduction to nature writing. Download the free EPUB.
