Written for a library hero club of boys, these tales follow the Persian epic from Kavah the blacksmith and Feridoun the glorious through white-haired Zal to the mighty Rustem: his childhood, his seven labours, his romance with the princess Tamineh, and the coming of his son Sohrab. Prose alternates with bits of verse.
