Three stories gathered after Stevenson’s death. Stout, hapless John Nicholson runs away from his stern Edinburgh father, then returns years later into a run of absurd disasters involving a corpse, a cab and a pass-key. In The Body-Snatcher a medical student assisting the anatomist Mr. K— learns where the dissecting-room subjects come from, and The Story of a Lie follows a son’s fib to his father.
Stevenson ranging from farce to graveyard horror, with the Burke-and-Hare era chiller The Body-Snatcher at its centre. Download the free EPUB.
