Joe Strong is a young acrobat with a travelling circus when something goes wrong on opening day, and he finds himself learning a new act: staying underwater for astonishing lengths of time in a big glass tank. Rival performers, his friend Tonzo, money troubles and the dangers of the tank keep him busy between shows.
