Muir went to Alaska three times between 1879 and 1890 to see glaciers still doing the work he had deduced in Yosemite. He found Glacier Bay, canoed the Inside Passage with Tlingit crews and a missionary, camped on the ice — and wrote the account of his dog Stickeen on the crevasse that became the most famous thing he ever published.

Muir’s last book, and the one with Stickeen in it. Download the free EPUB.
