Five folklorists working in the early 1900s recorded these stories across the islands, first printed in the Journal of American Folk-Lore. The Monkey and the Turtle, the farmer who deceived a demon, Tagalog tales including a Filipino Aladdin, Visayan wonder stories of Don Juan, children’s games and the myths of the Bagobo people of Mindanao are all here.
A valuable early record of Filipino oral tradition, for readers of world folklore. Download the free EPUB.
