Four men went prospecting in the mountains: Sandersen the dreamer, the strong Quade, the trail-wise Lowrie and the vital Hal Sinclair. Only three come back, and soon a stranger named Sinclair rides into the town of Sour Creek, stops a lynch posse in the name of the law and begins a long, patient reckoning with the men who returned.
A tense pulp western, first published in Western Story Magazine in 1922, from the genre’s most prolific master. Download the free EPUB.
