At the trading post of Flambeau on the Yukon, the trader is respected by every miner for his fairness in hard winters. His beautiful daughter Necia is courted by the boisterous French-Canadian Poleon Doret and by a young army lieutenant, Meade Burrell, but a secret about her parentage raises a barrier that the newcomer must decide whether to cross.
A popular northern romance whose central theme, the barrier of mixed blood, reflects the racial attitudes of 1908. Download the free EPUB.
