John Luttrell, a gentleman of old family, has withdrawn in bitterness to a bleak island off the west coast of Ireland, where he lives among poor fisher folk and neglects his young son Harry. When a yachting party lands there, the island girl Kate O’Hara is carried into a very different world, watched over by the elderly diplomat Sir Within Wardle.
