Golden Walter of Langton on Holm leaves an unhappy marriage and takes ship, only to be driven by storm to a strange coast. There he passes through a cleft in the cliffs into a wood held by a beautiful, dangerous Lady, her misshapen servant and a captive Maid, and must find his way through their schemes.
Written in Morris’s deliberately archaic prose, it is often named among the first modern fantasy novels. Download the free EPUB.
